Another WCC Christmas Concert is just around the corner!!! |
Deb Unger will be the Musical Director for our Christmas 2010 Concert Series. Deb is a soprano in the Choral Arts Society of Washington appearing at the Kennedy Center, Kennedy Center Honors, Kennedy Center Gala, A Capitol Fourth, MLK Tribute, Wolf Trap and Fords Theatre Gala in addition to many other DC venues. As a chorister in the Choral Arts Society, she has appeared in the Kennedy Center, the Music Center at Strathmore, London’s St. Paul’s Cathedral, and concert halls in Buenos Aires and Rio de Janerio. Deb is a past member of the Washington Chorus, and a founding member of the New York City Master Chorale. She appears as a frequent soloist in DC area churches and performances. Deb sang with WCC from 1986 – 2004 serving several seasons as Assistant Director and Musical Director as well as serving on the Board of Directors for most of those years. Deb has performed under many notable directors including Valery Gergiev, Leonard Slatkin, Thea Kano, Emil deCou, Erich Kunzel, Robert Schafer and Norman Scribner. She is a graduate of Radford University with a degree in Music Education, and is currently working as the business manager at OWL Volunteer Fire Dept. She lives in Woodbridge with her husband Larry and daughter Nicole. |
